About me

Hi! I'm Malavika. I love building, writing, and innovating.

I've always been interested in both the arts and the sciences, and that mix of analytical and creative thinking led me to product. I studied Intelligent Systems at Columbia University and graduated in 2020. Each chapter of my career has sharpened how I think about building.

I started as a Software Engineer at Prognos AI, building an AI application that predicts risk scores. That gave me a deep appreciation for what it takes to make models reliable in high-stakes settings. At Microsoft I spent my time at the frontier of image and video generation: working closely with OpenAI, Black Forest Labs and Microsoft AI, bringing video generation to customers at its inception, and figuring out how to make powerful models safe and useful enough to build on.

Next I worked on AI product at FLORA AI, building our eval infrastructure and harnesses and growing our MCP surface.

Outside of work you'll find me painting, writing and reading. I'm happiest when I'm learning, making things, and sharing them with the people I care about.
